Harry Lewis Dixon was interviewed by The Sanford Herald in the Sanford Bus Station before catching the bus for Carthage. Mr. Dixon, then a resident of Boston, MA, caught the attention of the reporter by claiming to be 108 years old. With a birthday of Feb. 14, 1842 (or 1846), Mr. Dixon told a story of holding President Lincoln's horse while the President delivered the Emancipation Proclamation.
