Description

In the "Local and Personal News" column of the May 29, 1912 edition of the Davie Record an excerpt appeared from the Cooleemee Journal: "A good citizen living near the big Yadkin River during the heavy rains recently saw floating down the river almost a complete still house consisting of one copper still and worm, four or five big mesh tubs, a wheelbarrow, and one barrel of whiskey. A very liberal reward will be paid for the return of the last mentioned item to the Journal office."
