Description

Clement, the sixth child of Jesse A. and Malinda Clement, was born in Mocksville. During the Civil War, Clement served as Captain of Company M, North Carolina 7th Regiment, Confederate Cavalry. After the war, Clement apprenticed with his brother Dr. William Clement and later attended the University of Louisiana for further medical training. He practiced medicine with his brother in Arkansas before returning to Rowan County, North Carolina in 1880.
