Description

A history of Carolina College, a college (and later, preparatory school) for women which was operated by the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, in Maxon, North Carolina, from 1912 until 1926. The school was closed due to financial difficulties and in light of Duke University's decision to admit female students. This copy was donated to Methodist College (now Methodist University) in 2001 by Taylor McMillan, son of Rhoda Holden McMillan (1900-1976). She was a 1920 graduate of Carolina College and the second president of the Carolina College Alumnae Association. This volume includes her hand-written annotations and corrections to the text.
