Photo of a large group of African American children posed in front of Union Baptist Church on East Third Avenue in Lexington, NC. Originally associated with First Baptist, Union Baptist organized in 1884. Henry M. and Laura Hargrave donated property on East Third Avenue to serve as the Union Baptist Church sanctuary site in 1905. The congregation moved to its current location at 110 Lincoln Avenue in 1954 under the leadership of Rev. S. D. Mciver.
