Description
The Mocksville Greyhound Bus Station operated
out of the Wilkins Drug Company from about 1930 until 1972 when it
moved to Tutterow's Esso Service. Hanes Yates, an employee of the
drug store, handled most of the bus service administrative work and
Henry Meroney greeted passengers. The drug store maintained
operating hours to coincide with the bus service. Bus drivers
routinely came into the drug store to "have a coke on the house."
