Descriptions of the Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of North Carolina held at the Masonic Hall in Raleigh from December 3 through 6, 1866, including the names of those present at each meeting, reports from various committees, an accounting of the dues paid by subordinate lodges, a list of lodges under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of North Carolina, returns from all of the subordinate lodges including the names of members and officers, a recapitulation of the meetings' events, the names of those present at a memorial service on February 2, 1867 to perform the last rites of Masonic burial over the deceased Grand Secretary William T. Bain, and an appendix containing the Constitution, By-Laws, Rules for the Conduction of Trials, an address to the Grand Master, resolutions in effect, and the report of the Committee on Foreign Correspondence.
