Description

Judge Furches, Davie County native, studied at Richmond Hill Law School and began practicing law at age 26 in Mocksville. Furches served as a County Solicitor, delegate to the Constitutional Convention in Raleigh after the Civil War (1865), and Justice on the North Carolina Supreme Court (1894-1901), becoming Chief Justice in 1901.
