Description

Mr. Witherspoon's ability in public speaking and calligraphy were legendary on campus. He was a teacher and a principal, and later in his career became Director of Student Affairs, offering more than a few second chances when misdeeds merited otherwise. He was the first Black chairman of the Pasquotank Board of Commissioners in the county's 300 year history.
