Description

Side view of the Wright Tavern in Wentworth, NC. Constructed in 1816 by William Wright and operated by descendants of the Wright family until the mid-1920's. The establishment provided meals and lodging to visitors to the Rockingham Co. courthouse across the street. The building is a rare and fine example of open center hall or "dog-run" architecture. Birthplace and home of Congressman J. W. Reid.
