The sampler does not include a date. It does have "Wrought by Deborah Peelle." Deborah Peele, born 1832, attended New Garden Boarding School in 1855 and married in 1869. I have no indication if this was done while she was a student at New Garden Boarding School or at another point in her life prior to 1869. Deborah Ann Peele (1832-1920), daughter of Elizabeth Hare and James Peele of Rich Square, Northampton County, North Carolina, married Joseph R. Parker in 1869. Gift to the college from Elizabeth Graham Parker (Guilford Class of 1932), great-granddaughter of creator. Transferred to the Friends Historical Collection, 2005.
