The Junior Women's club created the hospital book truck in 1942. They wished to establish a library that could be rolled from room to room for the patients at Leaksville Hospital. It was made from the discarded baby buggy of Sammy Pace. Club members involved in its creation include Mrs. Charles Martin, Mrs. Jack Lewis, and Mrs. Barr Attaway. The project won a Jr. Women's club award in May of 1944.
