James Wesley Reid (1849-1902) represented the Rockingham County congressional district from 1884 to 1887. This shipping crate stamped “Hon. J.W. Reid, Reidsville, NC” on the lid was used to send papers between Washington D.C. and his home at Wright Tavern in Wentworth, NC.
