Description

An early topographical view of Albemarle from the hill on South Third Street, once the site of the Albemarle Normal and Industrial Institute. This view looks north by northwest toward the center of town. Panning from left to right, the spire of the First Lutheran Church is visible to the left, then the rear of the Central Hotel, the spire of the County Courthouse, the spire of Central Methodist Church, and the water tower. The Stanly County Jail is visible at the far right. South Street is visible in the foreground.
