Transcription: Through the generosity of Mildred Walker of Chapel Hills, Boone, we bring you the Senior Appalachian High School Blue Devils of 1953, posed on the practice field next to Appalachian State Teacher's College's football stadium - which today accommodates parking between the Walker College of business and Farthing Auditorium as well as a classroom building. Front row from left are Donald Lyons, Armfield Coffey, Charles Taylor, Harbin ? Brown, and John Norris; second row: Kermit Ashley, Bill Talbert, Charles Winkler, Bill Jones, ""Little"" Guy Hunt, Jimmy Idol, and Bobby Ray.
