Description

The house stood at the corner of South Main and Water Streets until demolished in the 1960s to build a bank on the site. The home had been owned or occupied over the years by Rev. P.H. Dalton, who built the house, T.J. Byerly; Ellen Powers Lemmie and Nannie Powers (daughters of sculptor Hiram Powers), Grant Daniel, and Hugh Larew.
