Description

A new era of agricultural practices began in 1918 with the appointment of the county's first farm agent, employed to instruct and advise farmers on better practices. In 1922, E.C. Tatum was employed to teach vocational agriculture at Mocksville High School. In 1923, George Evans was employed as the county farm agent; he organized a field trip to leading farms in Piedmont NC.
