Constructed in the 1920s for R.B. and J.C. Sanford, sons of Calvin Cowles Sanford, the Sanford Brothers building offered business and office space for rent. The Davie Cafe, owned and operated by P.K. Manos in the 1920s, occupied the front of the building.
