Seven Davie County entrants in the Winston-Salem Soap Box Derby practiced on Depot Hill in Mocksville. Bill Collette was the chairman and the Mocksville Jaycees served as coordinators for the derby. Carl Moser of Advance drove the Reavis Autos car.
