The Italianate style house with two-tier front porch, completed in 1887, was the residence of Hugh E. Robertson, owner of an Advance tobacco company and former member of the House of Representatives (1885). Jesse Lee Clement, son of Jesse A. Clement, later occupied the house until his death.
