Van Watson inspecting oats seed field. Watson Seed Farms INC had 33 stick tobacco barns and raised 100 acres of flue cured tobacco. Watson Seed Farm also raised Hybrid Seed Corn, seed wheat and seed soybeans. There were 486 Watson Seed Dealers from Alachua, Florida to Rice, Virginia. There were 35 African American families living and working at Watson Seed Farms. From the photograph's label: "They were dedicated to doing their best at everything they did. They were hard working and honest Americans. Watson Seed Farms could not have operated without the African Americans, they did majority of the work."
