Born in Clayton, North Carolina in 1872, Dodd served as a Baptist minister in various places around the state, including Mocksville Baptist, for 30 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He died in 1950. A native of Mocksville, Leonora Dodd taught school locally and became principal of Mocksville Academy. She died in 1958.
